GreedFall features an array of choices that have different consequences and rewards. This GreedFall Choices & Consequences Guide lists all of the different quests and interactions we’ve discovered that include a choice and a consequence, so you can better decide what outcome you wish to pursue.

As with all games that heavily feature choices & consequences, some are very minor and others may have lasting effects throughout the story. As such, this is an evolving guide that we will continue to update as we move through the game.

GreedFall Choices & Consequences Guide

New Selene Choices & Consequences

Arrest Or Free Charlatan

If you arrest the Charlatan
You return to the quest giver and inform him of the arrest. You earn 3 Bridge Reputation points and 150 gold.

If you free the Charlatan
You free the Charlatan and receive 80 gold for freeing him, with an additional 50 for completing the quest and +1 Bridge Reputation.

Arrest Or Free Heretics/Historians

If you proceed with the arrest
If you choose this option both of the Heretics will attack you and you have to kill them. When you return to Theleme you get +3 reputation and 50 coin.

Propose to speak with the Bridge Alliance Ambassador
You return to the Bridge Alliance officer and speak with him. He agrees to offer them refuge. You get 80 coins. When you return to Theleme you can either tell the truth or lie. If you tell the truth you lose 1 reputation with Theleme.

If you lie, you gain +1 reputation with Theleme.

Let them be on their way
If you let them escape, they flee the area. If you tell the truth to Theleme you get -1 Theleme Reputation, if you lie, you get +1 reputation.

Coin Guard Merchandise Choice

The merchant is very clearly a scum bag and you will have some options on how to deal with him.

Persaude
Scumbag or not, he doesn’t want to be put in prison. If you have high enough charisma then this is the easy choice that doesn’t cost you anything.

Bribe
You can also offer him a bribe if you have 1 Intuition. He will agree to your terms, you don’t have to pay him, and you gain one rep with the Coin Guard. You don’t gain any points with Kurt but he does seem happy about this choice.

Insist
One way or another you are getting those goods. Go behind the merchant stall and clear out the thugs that attack you. I think there are five total so be ready for a fight. The merchant will surrender when he gets beat down enough and agree to terms as opposed to dying.

An Aspiring Merchant Persuade/Insist

When speaking with the Minister you will get two choices regarding the merchant. You can persuade, if you have high enough persuasion, or insist, which sends you off to explore the mansion.

Persuade
If you can do this successfully then do so, the results are the same and this saves you time.

Insist
You will have to go up to see your old teacher in the Governor’s mansion. He is on the third floor, which can be access from behind where the Governor sits. Ask him for your help and return to the minister to get the patent. It takes longer but you get the same result.

Hikmet Choices & Consequences

Intimidate, Charm Or Pay The Debt Collectors

This is during the quest for Vasco, Family Reunion. When you reach the Debt Collectors you have several choices

Pay now
If you pay, they free D’Arcy and leave.

Ask them if you can pay later
They agree to give you time to pay, although they will keep the hostage. Return to have the same conversation choices.

Intimidate Them (Charisma)
If you choose this and fail, it becomes the same as Attacking Them. If you succeed they release D’Arcy for free.

Attack Them
If you choose this option you fight the Debt Collectors.

Threaten, Reason, Warriors (A Peculiar Alliance)

Threaten The Warriors
If you threaten the warriors they will attack you and you must kill them.

Reason (Charisma)
If you charm them and you succeed, they flee the area and the merchant survives.

Tell them that some troops are approaching (Intuition)
They flee immediately and the merchant is fine.

Attack The Rebels Or Leave

Attack the Rebels
You wipe out the rebels. You get Bridge Alliance Reputation +2 when you return to the Captain.

Leave
If you decide to leave them you also get Bridge Alliance Reputation +2 when you return. This may have lasting effects. Will update as we progress.

How To Unlock The Coin Arena In Greedfall

You can unlock the Coin Arena as soon as you get to New Serena. When you get to New Serena, run through the town until you come across building called the Coin Tavern. Speak to the Barkeep about what is going on down in the basement and he will mention earning some coin. Go to the stairs and pay the 25 gold entrance fee and then go down. In the corner there are a pair of double wooden doors that leads to your first arena. Inside you will be able to fight multiple enemies until you are the champion. In order to get paid you must become the champion, this means you have to beat five challenges in a row equaling 15 fights. I highly recommend traps and bullets here, they are a game changer with the large groups of enemies. I don’t have any magic so I am not sure how well that would work. You CAN leave mid challenge and come back and start off right where you left off as well.

GreedFall Reputation Guide
Increasing reputation with factions and allies has huge rewards. This GreedFall Reputation & Relationship Guide answers all the questions you may have on reputation including how to increase your reputation, the rewards for doing so, and the various companion benefits you receive.

There are two types of reputation in GreedFall, Faction Reputation and Companion Relationship. Both function in very similar ways but with subtle differences. Factions are reputation with entire groups of people, often influenced by choices and consequences or completing side quests. Companion Reputation is tied directly to events involving that companion.

GreedFall Reputation Guide

Whenever certain events increase or decrease influence, you will see an on-screen notification. This is often the results of completing quests or dialogue choices. Building up reputation with factions offers rewards at each new tier.

For example, when you reach Nice reputation with Coin Guard, you will receive some items at your house. This includes the Hammer of the Forgotten Gods, a gold rarity weapon, and a green cape. These are hugely beneficial rewards if received early, as they are better than anything else you find.

Each time you increase your reputation level to a new tier with a faction, you will have special rewards shipped to your house or camp chest, so be sure to check it often.

GreedFall Companion Relationship Guide

Your Companions work much in the same way as factions. As you complete companion specific quests, you will improve your relationship with them. Unlike faction reputation, your companions don’t usually give you items. Instead, they will give you more quests and, eventually, even improve your stats. Taking Vasco as an example; once you reach a high enough relationship level with him, you will get a bonus to your intuition. Each companion provides a bonus to a different stat or skill.

Nadaig Magamen Notes

The first three of these notes can be found in the Glendgnamvar area of the world. You can find the first two here.

In order to get the third piece you will have to kill the beast in that area. If you can kill him then you will gain access to the A tomb called Bedri. Inside of there you can find the third piece here on the map. The enemies inside can be tough if you face them in a corridor, try to lure them into more open areas.

We are still looking for the fourth piece.

Nadaig Vedemen Notes

We currently only have one of these notes and it can be found in Magasvar, the area between Hikmet and Glendgnamvar.

Memory Crystals allow you to refund your spent skill and ability points. This Where To Find Memory Crystal In GreedFall will tell you how to find more Memory Crystals so you can respec your character and start afresh with new skills and abilities more than once.

Memory Crystals are how you respect. Once you have a Memory Crystal simply navigate to the Character Development tab in the menu and look at the lower left of the screen. There is a Reset Skills option, it’s Square on the PlayStation 4. If you have a Memory Crystal, you can simply press this button and immediately spend all of your stats on different Skills, Attributes, and Talents.

Where To Find Memory Crystal In GreedFall

Memory Crystal #1

The first Memory Crystal is obtained automatically and is designed to give you the option of undoing your starting class choice. You are awarded it automatically upon reaching level 4, or thereabouts.

Memory Crystal #2

The second Memory Crystal can be found by defeating an optional boss, the Nadaig Glendemen. You can find it inside a cave. It’s through the Passage Leading to the Shore on Wenshaganaw. One of Vasco’s side quests, Forever A Naut, sends you on the search for a wrecked Naut ship. The Memory Crystal boss can be found very close to the ship, in a small part of the cave that leads to a dead end.

Memory Crystal #3

After you complete the Face to Face with the Demon main story quest and defeat the boss, you get a Memory Crystal after solving the Stone Candle Puzzle and Drum Puzzle.

Memory Crystal #4

You can find this one in Vedvilvie. There’s a boss at this location that you must defeat.

We will continue to update this guide on where to find more Memory Crystals as we progress through the game. However, it’s already clear they are going to be rare. If you want to respec your character it’s a good idea to save first and then try a few arena fights or something, just to be safe.

Contract Missions are special combat focused missions with quick rewards. This GreedFall Contract Missions Guide will tell you where to find more Contract Missions, how to find the enemies that are targeted and the rewards you receive upon completion.

Unlike side quests and main story quests, Contracts are special missions that can only be obtained from Contract Boards set up throughout the game world. Certain areas will feature a board, you simply approach it and grab a mission to begin the Contract. They typically involve hunting down nearby creatures.

GreedFall Candle Puzzle Guide
You must find a way to enter the passage using Candles. This GreedFall Stone Candle Puzzle Guide will tell you the correct order to activate the candles during the Demoniacal Cult main story quest where you must light candles to gain access to a special door within a tree.

During the main story quest you will be tasked with following a man to a secret altar. When you arrive, you have a vision of a burning tree before returning to normality. Once things are back to normal, you must figure out the correct order in which to light the candles before you can progress.

GreedFall Candle Puzzle Guide

Simply approach each candle and activate them in the following order:

Wind Stone
Lightning Stone
Fire Stone
Death Stone
Water Stone
Life Stone

Make sure you light them in the correct order. If you do not, you are attacked by a group of bats. Once solved correctly, the door will open and you can progress into the next area. The next area features another puzzle, if you get stuck, check out our GreedFall Drum Puzzle Guide.

An Old Hermit, a dirty swamp, and some drums. This GreedFall Drum Puzzle Guide tells you how to complete the Drum Puzzle in GreedFall during the main story quest, Face to Face with the Demon. This quest is shortly after the Stone Candle puzzle quest. You arrive in a new swampy area and are greeted by an Old Hermit who tells you about an ancient ritual.

Once you arrive, follow your objectives. You’ll explore a small part of the swamp collecting tidbits of information on the party that arrived before you. Once you’ve got the appropriate key ingredients to solve the puzzle, the Old Hermit will tell you about the drums.

GreedFall Drum Puzzle Guide

It’s very simple, play the drums in the following order

Yellow Insect
Black Frog
Red Snake

Once you play the drums in the correct sequence, you can proceed. Be careful, much like the previous puzzle, if you play the drums in the wrong order, you’ll get attacked. Be prepared, after the puzzle, there’s a fight but you do get a Memory Crystal as a reward.

Where To Use The Coin Guard Soldiers Key In Greedfall

The key can be found in Magasvar, The Vale Of The Great battle. It is in the Hot Springs near one of the mini boss creatures in the area. You will have to beat the creature in order to get the key. I used traps and like 50 bullets to bring it down. When you have to key you will have to travel far to thee east. You will have to use the south path and cut east from there, the north path is too high to climb. When you get far enough east you will run into the Alliance Outpost Camp, here on the map.

Where To Use The Coin Guard Soldiers Key In Greedfall 2

If you look around while at the camp, you can see some wooden platforms on the rocks near there. If you follow them around you will run into a ladder that you can climb up. Follow that to a second ladder and up there you will find the chest you can use the key on. You will get some orange armor and a orange two handed sword.

The Meridian Metroplex has force fields that block your passage. This guide explains How To Lower Shields In Meridian Borderlands 3 so you can figure out how to get past the shields and explore the areas beyond that were previously locked due to the shields.

Shields are not a universal barrier in Borderlands 3, you don’t encounter them often. However, this guide is specifically about the shields you will find mostly in the Meridian Outskirts and Meridian Metroplex.

How To Lower Shields In Meridian Borderlands 3

In short, you cannot lower, destroy or bypass the barriers. There is a special event during the main story in which a friendly allied character shows you he is able to take them down. During a mission you destroy a huge generator, this then gives you the ability to explore areas that were previously shielded. Once the generator is destroyed, the shields are destroyed also.

It’s during the final steps of the story mission, Hostile Takeover, it’s not an optional quest. You can’t miss it.

There are tons of weapon skins to find and unlock in Borderlands 3. This guide explains How To Change Weapon Skins In Borderlands 3 as although it’s a very simple process, it’s easy to miss and the game doesn’t make many attempts at explaining how to equip weapon skins.

There are many different cosmetic items in Borderlands 3. You can find weapon skins, replacements for your head, character skins, there’s a huge variety of choice so you can customize your character and your weapons. Equipping a weapon skin is different to customizing other aspects of your character.

How To Change Weapon Skins In Borderlands 3

If you want to change your weapon skin or equip a new weapon skin, simply follow these steps.

Open the main menu and navigate to the inventory tab

Promethea is the second planet you go to in Borderlands 3. While you are here you will run into a few side quests you will have to complete. Check out this Borderlands 3 Promethea side quest guide to complete them all as you go along.

You will start getting side quests pretty early in this area.

Healers And Dealers

This quest is found while you are doing the mission Hostile Takeover. It is from a poster on the wall near the hero of this area. Go to the way point and speak with the doctor there. He needs you to collect some supplies for him since he can’t leave. When you meet with the black market dealer you can either pay him or threaten him. If you pay him you will get 15 Meds and one bloodpack. The man will also be happy.

Maliwannabees

This quest is a murder mystery that you have to figure out. Go to the way points and then go inside the elevator and take it up. You have to choose who to kill. I spared Max and the quest giver said that was the right choice. After you leave you have to go back up and kill the other one.

Rise And Grind

You will get this side quest when you enter the Meridian Metroplex. The commander needs her coffee and you are the only who has to get it. You will have to go through a bunch of hoops to get the commander her coffee. Then at the end you will have to kill the coffee commander.

Dynasty Dinner

Now that she has coffee she wants to eat. Head to the dinner and you will have to kill some enemies there. When they are dead, kill the Ratch enemies and the queen. Make the burger, follow the bot, and kill the boss. Return the burger to Lorelei to complete the quest.

Technical Nogout

This one can be found here on the map.

You need to head back to the Meridian Outskirts and the blue barrier that normally blocks this place is now open. Kill the enemies inside the base and then speak with the scientist. He will give you a vehicle so you can capture some creatures for him. Get three of them and return to his lab. You will have another fight on your hands, and a big one to boot. When the bad guys are done, the quest is complete.

This one can be found here on the map.

You have to enter Lectra city and kill 3 targets. This quest sucks because this zone is rough and you can’t drive. While you are killing the targets, Moxxi will tell you to get some batteries for her as well. The targets are easy to find, but hard to kill. The batteries can be a bit more tricky. One is found here on the map.

The next one is found here on the map. You have to jump up in a tight alley way here.

Jump up this part and turn around to see a ladder. Get a running jump to that ladder and climb up to the battery.

Third one is easy, just don’t fall into the water.

Porta Prison

This one is found in Lectra city. You have to help a guy get out of a toilet. Go down to his crew and kill all of them. Then you have to spray some graffiti, kill some cop bots, and install the AI into the crapper. Kill some more cop bots and then a janitor bot to complete the quest.

Proof Of Wife

This is another quest found in Lectra city. Go down into the subway tunnels near the poster and go to the way point. This quest is rough, if you die then you are going to have a hard time getting back. Go down to the way point in the subway and you will be sent back up to free a bandit. Kill the cops, free the bandit, kill the bandit, and take her mask. Now try your best to go back to the subway you left from and go back to Tumorhead’s base. You have to put the mask on one of the dead bodies outside of the door and wait for it to open. When it opens you need to kill all the bandits.

Borderlands 3 Skywell Side Quest Guide

Skywell is another part of Promethea.

Opposition Research

Finding this quest is easy, getting it done can be tricky. The first Intel location is locked behind story progression. Use the key in the room near the first Intel spot and clear out all the enemies. Now you can go through the locked door and find the dead body. Follow the blood to a toilet, open it up, and grab the item. For the second piece of Intel you will have to check a locker. The key is on the interrogator that comes out, kill him and open it up. The third one you have to defend the spy. The main quest leads you right to him, so follow that. Make sure you grab the item from the spy before you leave. Head to the last point and you have to fight 3 waves of enemies before completing the quest.

Each zone in Borderlands 3 has a host of Crew Challenges that you can access on the map screen of each area. There are usually 5-6 different Crew Challenges available in each area, including Typhon Logs that lead to Typhon Dead Drops with awesome rewards. Well, sometimes. It’s Borderlands, right?

Borderlands 3 Keep The Stache Or Lose The Stache Guide

Both results end in the game saying the Rhys will remember this, but I think that is just the game trolling choices in video games.

Keep The Stache
You will talk his stache up like it is super impressive. Rhys will say thank you and hand you the map fragment. You will get your quest reward and unlock a new head piece, which is Rhys with a mustache on. The game says he will remember this, but I don’t think it amounts to anything. I will update if it does. Rhys keeps his mustache.

Lose The Stache
You insult Rhys, pretty brutally might I add, and it says Rhys will remember this. He will hand you the key fragment and give you your quest reward. You get some cash and the head oh Rhys without a mustache. Rhys will not keep his mustache if you pick this option. I will update if anything else happens because of this.
